Beyoncé wasn’t the only one to get the stage wet and wild at the BET Awards.
Smooth crooner Maxwell came in with a late-broadcast performance of “Lake by the Ocean,” emerging with an umbrella as rain crashed down on him. The singer, dressed to the nines in a dapper three-piece suit, stripped off his jacket and sunglasses midway through a rendition of the song, the lead single off his upcoming album blackSUMMERS’night, releasing July 1.
On top of that, he joined in on the Prince tribute train, segueing into a cover of “Nothing Compares 2 U,” originally recorded and written by Prince but made popular by Sinéad O’Connor.
